Project Details
Denso Void Filler™ Type 1 (Denso Steelcoat 50™ System) was specified for injection into 20 monitoring cables running on the inner surface of the nuclear reactor containment building at the Kakrapar Atomic Power Project.
The domed roof of the containment building is supported with a number of cables running across from top to bottom in a variety of formations. Some of the cables are fitted with monitoring cells and hence, cement grouting is ruled out for use. Instead, the corrosion prevention medium Denso Void Filler is specified due to its many advantages such as keeping the cables rust free, allowing monitoring cells to be active inside and also allowing the future option of drainage as and when required in case of inspection of the pre-stressed cables.
Denso Void Filler can be pumped into place either hot or cold for more than 100 meters without any air space, making it an easy to apply, fool proof system.
