Project Details
Following the success of the Denso Hotline™ Tape, Denso Glass Outerwrap™ and the Archco 65™ Topcoat System for the protection of the fourteen 16” and 24” diameter pipes at the soil air interface (SAI) to FBE coated pipes operating at 90°C at the Shah Gas Field, the ADNOC Sour Gas Integrity Assurance assessed, identified and approved the use of the same system for the protection of the SAI of a 3LPE coated pipe.
It had been identified that due to the extended UV exposure to the 3LPE system at the SAI location and due to expansion contraction (movement) of the pipe in this location, the 3LPE had started to delaminate and corrosion was visible underneath. Therefore, the delaminated 3LPE was removed and all UV exposed 3LPE was covered with the Denso system shown.
ADNOC Sour Gas are one of ADNOC’s gas producers and a market leader in sour gas field development, as well as a major international sulphur producer. They produce 1 billion standard cubic feet of gas per day.
